As mentioned in the prior update, we were the first band to perform at Arin Baari and in our discussion with Ari the owner, we agreed for some regular gigs in the place.

New Bassman
Since we had to say goodbye to Charlie and Eero is quite busy with the City Theater, we needed someone to cover that post. Taavi asked around and ended up contacting Teemu. Teemu is a talented local Bassplayer and after one evaluation rehearsal, we agreed to band together with him for the upcoming gigs.

Grand Opening
After the September tour Jordan, Taavi and Eli met with Ari to discuss regular shows at his Bar. On top of everything else, they asked us to play in their official grand opening event, a Housewarming party. The event itself started at 4pm and we managed to set up and soundcheck with Eero on Sound before 3pm. This time we got Jade on board (couldn’t join us for the September tour due to being sick). This time she was ready to open the stage at 6pm with her finnish set with acoustic guitar and some backing tracks.
The house was full and there was some BBQ happening on the Terrance outside. The room was buzzing and very lively! At Around 7pm it was our turn, with a mix of original songs and some party cover songs. We had people dancing and singing along to “The Look” by Roxette, which was a crowd favorite and “Life is a highway” became a sing along at the end of our set.

First official Friday Club
–
Perjantai Klubi
Not even a week later we kickstarted our first Friday club. As we function as a house band we will have a fun mix of our own songs and covers to fit the topic of the night. On the 04.10 the topic was “mental health” since there is the global mental health awareness day on the 10.10.24.
We had Veeti and Gege with two other guest rappers opening the night at 7pm. They had their finnish set accompanied with theme related talks in between. Afterwards we had a quick switch over and opened up the night with “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. With our original music, Eli got to share a lot of very personal stories behind our own songs. Taavi invited his friend Rosa Coste (check out her music here) to spontaneously jump on stage for the cover “Slowdancing in a burning room” by John Mayer. We also shared the stage with Okko, Taavi’s son, singing “Stillness of heart” by Lenny Kravitz. Our old friend Chris Evans from New Zealand arrived on the day and gave a little talk about mental health in the middle of our set.
It all felt very free. We made Ari happy by finishing the night with his favorite song “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath. The audience was a mix between regulars, friends and the hype crew of the guest rappers.
Extra shout out to Teemu who had to learn ten of our original songs and ten cover songs within less than two weeks and did a fantastic job!
The next Perjantai Klubi is going to be the 01.11. at Arin Baari! Mark it in your calendars and see you there! Halloween Theme, but we’re doing it in as a Light Party, opposing the dark stuff behind the whole deal of The Halloween…

Great to read this! Wonderful to hear about the flow of gigs recently, creative collabs, and new band members. Lots of love – Maree 😍
