Here is a review of the last gigs, happenings and outlooks.

Mini February Tour with Haydé
On 31st of January Haydé released the music video to her song “Ta-Da” and started to promote her first two gigs of her second album release tour with ColourCollide.
At the last minute we got an opportunity to play at M-Klubi night at Monde, Rovaniemi. Heidi arrived in the morning of 06.02. and Hartsa, being our sound guy for the weekend, joined later on the day,
Haydé opened up the night, promoting her latest album “Picturesque”. At Monde the crowd is seated further at the back leaving a giant void between the stage and the audience, but this time there seemed to be no such thing between Haydé and them! Everyone was enjoying her songs and Haydé moved very freely, dancing, headbanging and flying away in the end.

We followed up with our set around the theme Love & Heartbreak. We even had a semi acoustic number with Cajon and Acoustic Ukulele, which doesn’t happen too often. Eli felt free on stage, being inspired how freely Haydé had moved during her set. A lot of stories were shared and we were taking our time, talking away with all these people, not realising that Monde has a Curfew! They made us hurry up (in a very polite way) and pack down quickly in the end, but we made it even with few minutes to spare.

Saturday the 08.02 we meet early to drive up to Äkäslompolo. Just like the other times we’ve been there, we showed up early at Jolie’s Lounge to avoid the lunch rush while we set up. This was the first time performing there during their high season and the place was packed when we arrived.
With a quick change of plans, we went to the hotel first to check in and settle down. This gave Hartsa and Juhani plenty of time to look at the sound desk and to suss out some technical stuff. Meanwhile Taavi caught up with his old friend and organised Juhani an acoustic guitar for that one song.
In the afternoon we went back to finally set up and get the soundcheck sorted. With a tasty dinner break, provided by Jolie, we got all set and sorted to have Haydé work her magic and mesmerize the full house of a mixed crowd.
We took our time at the changeover for a bar break. Tea and some amazing cakes of course!
During our set we enjoyed the cosy environment and Hartsa as always created a great mix for us. It is always a pleasure to work together with him!
We didn’t have people dancing, this time, but everyone had a good time, enjoying the night and the chill vibe of the place.
After pack down we went back to the hotel and had sauna, debrief and a hangout. It was great to have Hartsa and Haydé enriching us for this weekend, but before we knew it, it was already time to say our goodbyes at the train station for the two.

Changeover Bass
During the last months, work and other responsibilities have been filling Teemu’s calendars and it’s been harder and harder for him to find time for ColourCollide. We had to part ways and wish him all the best!
After some asking around, we got a friend of a friend lured in for the project. Joonas is a local dude who has a lot of experience and is very well prepared during rehearsals! With just one week to prepare we got him to jump in on the bass and tried to meet as much possible to get through the songs for our gig in Sarvi, a Rock Club in Rovaniemi.

Sarvi Pubi 07.03
Joonas made it easy for us to become a good team for the next gig.
Two rappers, Gege and Jasper, helped us carry our stuff in and we were able to take as much time as needed to get our PA running and soundcheck sorted. Just before the show, we met backstage to go through the set “unplugged” as a little warm up. At around 11pm Jasper and Gege opened up the night with their set.

After midnight we got on stage and got into the set with our “Something in D”-jam. We had people dance and overall they were enjoying it the whole show! Over 40 showed up, which is a good turnout for a night like that. Eli talked about the story behind “Battlefield” and a ome people were really touched by it.

Spring dates
The Spring dates of the Perjantai Klubi’s are here!

We already saw one happening. Unfortunately ColourCollide had to leave the evening to Jade, since Eli, Jordan and Taavi all battled with sickness and no voices left in them. The theme was “Heartache” and Jade got really inspired to dig out some old songs she had not performed before. This topic was dear to her heart and the night was received well.
With the next one fast approaching, we would love for you to mark the date in your calendars! On 28.03. we will run our Next Perjantaiklubi under the title of “Memories”. ColourCollide will do two sets with special guest singers joining throughout the set.
