Gigs before Summer

Welcome Summer time! We hope you all have had a good start into the summer season! To finish up our gigging season for spring, we had two gigs over the last two Fridays.

First, we wrapped up the monthly Friday Club’s at Ari’s pub on the 30.05. We had Mari & Antti debuting their Duo with acoustic guitar and voice, shining in a mix of covers and originals. They brought a big cheering group of family and friends with them. We are happy we got to play with them! Ben was mixing sound for us and got some compliments from the crowd about the good balance and the vocalists not going under in the mix. As ColourCollide we started with a Jam after entering the stage. It was a hot room and we were glad to still see people vibing, Ari happy, and even some dancing in the crowd. What a sweet time to wrap up the monthly clubs for the summer.

Thanks for all the support and to Ari for giving us the platform!

This was our first time being hired by a company to play music at their work function. We had two sets prepared: 13 Cover songs and 4 Originals. We got Roni on sound. He also has a lot of experience playing drums with his band for different private events. This was a new world for most of us. It was also the first time having so many covers on a gig. As the lead Singer, I, Eliane, had a few moments where I was wondering if I should have shuffled some songs on the spot. You never know when people feel like dancing, only listening and need time for some breathers/quiet songs, until you catch the vibe on the day. I think I was too shy to change things around immediately, but I was happy to see people enjoying our originals in the mix as well. It was a valuable time, learning a lot from this experience. Between the sets, we played “Kolmekymppinen”, which is a well known Finnish song – often played in Karaoke. The company celebrated 30 years and we played for them in their Karaoke rendition of this song.

Thank you to the Company Neve for having us!

We wish you all an amazing summer full of many sweet moments. Make the most of the bright months!

-Eliane
